Hello everyone!!!!
First let me apologize it has been so long sense I have written a blog. Life
here in Busia has been long and busy. Also getting my bank card to work has been a task
all in it's self So I have not been able to get money out and come to blog. But I can now and
I hope you enjoy hearing a little bit about my time here so far.
First let me tell you "God is good, all the time and all the time God is good". Our flight here
to Busia was a really great flight. We flew on a very nice plane, we were able to spend time with
the other teams before we had to leave them and it was just a great trip. We flew to Dubai
and we had a 10 hour layover there but the times we were there was from around 11p.m. to 9a.m.
so we stayed out all night touring Dubai and loving on our fellow South Africa team and Swazi team.
But our time came and we had to say good bye, it was so sad I love them all so much and really
miss waking up everyday to spend time with them. But we have heard from them and things are going well
also the Nicaraqua team I really miss. So if you can just keep all of these teams in your prayers
that would be amazing and I know myself and the teams would appreciate it.
We are here now, we met our host his wife was not with him while he was here. We call him Dr.K
he lives in Gainesville, Ga which is really cool he lives so close to me. He only stayed with us
for 3 days before returning home. Our host who is here with us while Dr.K and his wife Brenda are not with us is
Pastor Moses. He works for Dr.K with the Helping Hands ministry so he aligns up our ministry for us and works with us.
Our bikes are awesome; we bought them our first day of being here and if we are not walking
we are biking. They are kinda crappy though and fall apart a lot but we just laught and say T.I.A (That Is Africa).
As we walk down the street all the little kids chant "mzungu mzungu" it means white person
but they are so funny when they sing it to us. They also do not know lots of english but what they do know
is "hi how are you?" they say that all the time as we walk as well. This is a typical walk through town in Busia
*African kids- "mzungu, mzungu" "how are you, how are you, how are you?" "I' am fine"
*The white mzungu's- "we are fine"
"How are you" to them is just another way to say hey, but this is our life in Busia.
On to the more fun about my life here. Can I start out and say we are under attack from satan
he hates what we are doing here and he wants to take us down but we are fighting with all of our
strength.I do need my prayers warriors at home to be praying for me (Mrs. Kristi you are the first person I thought of)
Last Saturday around 12 at night I woke up feeling sick I started throwing up around 12:30 and
did not stop till 4a.m. Every 20 minutes like clock work it seemed like I was throwing up. So finally at 4
I was so fed up with throwing up that I went to bed and faught through nausea. I was spiking a fever through the night and layed
in bed most of the next day. But my leader B said I needed to go to the clinic. So we walked ot the clinic
and the tested me for typhoid and maleria. To test me for it they just drew some blood from my arm and sent it to the lab.
But I was so light headed, nausea's and I had nothing in my body because I had to appetite to eat or drink so
wonderful me as I stood up to walk and wait for my results I passed out into the floor..hahaha. I know it's really not funny to you
and at the time it was not but our team has been through so much in one week that it seems so little. I did come to and I was able
to lay down and I felt much better. But the results came back and I do have maleria, I got a shot in the bum for 5 days and
I now have more medicine to take on top of the maleria pills I was already taking. Please know that I am fine, every shot
made me feel better and right now I feel back to almost normal just still a little tired. This is not where it ends for my team though.
There were already 2 people from the second Uganda team (who we live with I forgot to mention that We have all ended up living together which we all really enjoy.)
But 2 of them had infections then I got maleria it is now the end of the week 3 of us have had maleria, 1 has typhoid, and more
sicknesses here and there. We just know we are really under attack and we need prayer.
But again God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
Life here is good I praise God I have the chance to be here and fight for his kingdom. He has been giving me dreams
and I have begun praying for discernment of these dreams so he is moving and my spirits are high.
I miss everyone so much though, I hate that I have not been able to be in better commmunication and blog more but hopefully
things will settle down and I can do much better.
I love you all so much, thank you for reading and feel free to ask me questions if there are specifics
you want to know. It is all just so much to sit and type in one blog.
God Bless you all and have wonderful holidays.
GOD IS MOVING IN ME AND I PRAISE HIM FOR THAT!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
